I tend to play Peter as somewhere between late 20's and early 30's, doing Grad school stuff but still working for the Daily Bugle taking pictures of Spider-Man.

Not So Dark Academia - for igotacrossbow
Apparently Peter does when he meets a genius who talks non-stop but doesn't believe he'll do anything besides serve in the military. He also thinks Jensen will be hilarious in class and Peter is in for a good time this class.
If the guy shows up.
He's watching the crowds of people go by. Peter's looking for blond hair, goatee, and Army looking guy. He picked a time to meet that would allow for Jensen to be late and for them to still make class. If he's on time, they might even be able to stop at the student cafe for coffee.
If Jensen's on time.
no subject
He decided to take Peter up on his offer to come sit in on one of his graduate classes. Jensen's never been to college, but skipping straight to grad school sounds about right for something he'd do, so he's looking forward to this. Quantum mechanics. Who knew!
It's not often he gets to feel like a completely clueless idiot, so no matter what, it should be fun.
Despite what people might think by looking at him (and by knowing him for any length of time), Jensen is actually, usually, punctual. If there's one thing the Army did manage to drill into him it's that you have to be where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there, so ten minutes before the time Peter suggested, he's already casing out the location they're supposed to meet at. His reconnaissance might be a little more subtle if he was capable of dressing that way, but he's not, so Peter should be able to spot him pretty easily by the Mordor Fun Run shirt he's wearing and the fact he doesn't hesitate to come right up to greet him like they're old friends.
"Pete! Hey man, what's up?" He's already reaching out for the classic handshake-and-back-slap so hopefully Peter's prepared.
no subject
Peter is not expecting to be pulled into a hug. He's not really used to open, obvious excitement about seeing him from anyone other than his Aunt. He stumbles for about half a second to get his skateboard out of the way before he returns the back slap.
"Hey," Peter says leaning back from the greeting. He was not expecting Jensen to be taller than him. It's not by much but the guy is taller and broader and clearly in better shape than all the other college students hanging around. Jensen is going to stand out like a sore thumb in a class full of physics students even with the glasses. "Nice to see you."
He runs a hand through his hair. "So, uh, we've got some time to kill. You want to grab a coffee or something?"
Peter trusts he won't have to fill the silence for long. Once Jensen gets talking he can settle in to just listening which he's good at.
no subject
Peter looks just the way Jensen expected him to, and that only a little bit has to do with the fact that Jensen absolutely looked him up before waltzing onto campus today. He also looked up Peter's photography portfolio, and he's right, that guy gets some incredible pictures of Spiderman. They must be a lot closer than Peter suggested, which is pretty damn cool.
"Oh, fuck yes, I want coffee. Let's go get coffee." If there's one place on earth that won't judge him for his caffeine intake, it's a college campus barista.
no subject
He chuckles and heads towards the cafe. Jensen will just fall into step with him he imagines. "It's a student run cafe. So, don't expect Starbucks. It's cheap though and pretty good."
Queens College isn't the most prestigious in New York but it has a grad program for physics and it's affordable which is what Peter needs.
"If you get bored with any of this, you can bail," he says. "I won't take it personally."

You'd probably want to stay at the Baxter, right?
It's a lot nicer than my place.
thank u for moving omg replying there drove me nuts ajsbj
yeah sure the baxter’s pretty great
but pete
i like to stay close to you when you do homework
or do chores with you even if i’m just drying dishes or taking out the trash
i can sleep anywhere if i’m cuddling with you
…
wait
scratch that
maybe not anywhere
samesies!
Hence why I suggested the Baxter since the whole point is sleepovers.
We can give it a shot if you really want.
But I have a feeling you're going to hate how limiting my place is.
no subject
caught red-handed
yeah i think the baxter’s better at sleepovers
i know i complain too much
but i mean i like your place!
there are just things i don’t like too

Working hard but also living.

It's like five bucks.
Okay, she does need to learn to be a good winner.
That's not nice to other kids.

TFLN Cont. w/firestorming
[ He didn't mean to make it sound like he was thinking about leaving! He pouts a little. ]
I try not to worry you. It's bad enough with the Spider-Man stuff, I know.
mesmerized by that gif honestly
[Johnny knows Peter wouldn't leave without a good reason! After all, he came up to Johnny's room when he could have made an excuse to go home. That's a comfort for both of them.]
I know. And I know you and Reed know what you're doing in the lab. But if there had been a big fire and I wasn't close enough to put it out, you could've been hurt. And I know that you're gonna sense danger like that better than any of us. And the lab is probably the safest place in the whole world. But for a moment there I was worried.
he pretty
I don't get hurt as easily. I know that doesn't make you worry less but I want to remind you. Just remind you. [ He reaches out and plucks at Johnny's t-shirt for something to do with his hands. ] You can worry. And you can protect me like you did. Because you're good at that.
he is!
I know. I do know baby. [He sighs.] And it's not like you two haven't blown stuff up before. Remember when you literally melted a workbench? That was way worse than this.
I think it's just... we were just friends, then. We're more now. And for a moment, I worried.

after the stalking
[ Attached is a photo. When he opens it, Peter will see a selfie of Spider-Man leaning on the shoulders of a Hispanic man with long hair and a goatee, a man who seems at best reluctantly amused but more realistically annoyed by the whole experience. It's a pretty good photo. ]

valentine's date.
But with Peter? Everything's just different. Peter doesn't see him as the underwear model or the face of a renowned superpowered group. Peter just sees him for who he is. Just Johnny, the superhero bestie he didn't know he needed, who'd usually annoy him but flirt with him. Peter saw through him, and Johnny, for the first time in a relationship, feels seen.
So, forgive him, if he's dressed really nice today waiting for Peter on the ground floor of this fancy five-star hotel. Some guests, though only a few of them, are whispering with each other, obviously aware of who Johnny is. But he doesn't care. Doesn't care that he has flowers, a box of chocolates, a teddy bear, and two paper bags in hand. Doesn't care that the receptionist is staring at him with doe eyes wishing she's the one he's waiting for.
All he cares about is going on this date with the man he loves very much. All Johnny Storm cares about is dating Peter Parker. ]
no subject
He definitely feels wildly self-conscious when he stops outside the hotel and needs a second to psych himself up. It's fine. It doesn't matter. Johnny wouldn't care if he showed up in torn jeans and a Hawaiian shirt. All that matters is that Peter's here.
It's Valentine's Day. They're together. That's all that matters.
He walks through the doors and spots his boyfriend right away. Johnny is totally handsome and it takes Peter's breath away for a second. ]
Hi, hot stuff. [ He walks towards him, ignoring the people in the lobby. It's just them. ] Meeting a hot date here. Maybe you've seen him?
no subject
(Though Johnny makes a mental note to bring Peter shopping for a new suit. Maybe tomorrow.)
Peter's quip eliciting a chuckle out of him, Johnny grins and prevents himself from kissing his boyfriend right then and there. ]
Well, your hot date is one hell of a lucky guy. [ Johnny playfully runs his tongue across his lower lip, blue eyes running up and down Peter. ] Good thing I've seen him. And he's loving everything he's looking at right now.
no subject
You want help carrying any of that? [ He asks with a nod towards the sheer amount of stuff in Johnny's arms. Peter doesn't appear to be carrying anything. His gift for Johnny is small enough to fit in his pocket. ] I've got a hand or two free, you know.
[ Peter gave Johnny blanket permission to go crazy with Valentine's Day. He is not going to say all these gifts and the flowers are too much. His boyfriend is free of lectures today.
The little voice in Peter's head that wants to say Johnny doesn't ever have to get him anything ever and that he's with Johnny because of who he is and not his money or fame will just have to wait for another day. ]
